Dear Neighbors and Friends,
In Titusville, the Fourth of July is more than a holiday – it is a tradition that reflects the heart of our small town. Each year, neighbors gather along River Drive, children wave flags from decorated bikes, families reconnect with friends they have known for decades, and the spirit of community fills the air.
This tradition becomes even more meaningful in 2026 as our town joins the nation in celebrating the 250th Anniversary of American Independence: the Semiquincentennial. Few communities are as closely tied to the founding of our nation as Titusville. Just steps from where General George Washington crossed the Delaware River in 1776, we have the privilege of celebrating our country’s independence in a place where history truly happened.
But what makes the Titusville Fourth of July special is not just the history: it is the people. It is the volunteers setting up tents before sunrise. It is the families who have participated in the Baby Parade and Bike Parade for generations. It is the neighbors decorating their homes in red, white, and blue. It is the sound of music, laughter, and community echoing through town.
This year’s parade theme, “Honoring History with Small Town Pride,” reflects what makes Titusville special — a community rooted in history, strengthened by tradition, and powered by volunteers who care deeply about keeping these traditions alive.
The 2026 celebration will once again feature a full day of community events, including:
Opening Ceremonies at the Grandstand in front of Titusville Academy, honoring Bill and Nancy Cane as our 2026 Grand Marshals in proud recognition of their dedication and contributions to our community
The beloved Baby Parade & Bike Parade featuring neighborhood children, relatives, and friends
The Big Parade featuring marching bands, historic reenactors, Durham boats, local organizations, decorated floats, and community groups
Food tents, birch beer floats, novelties, and family games including cornhole
The Miss Fourth of July and Graduating Senior Scholarship Program honoring our 2026 graduating seniors.
A festive Boat Parade on the Delaware River at Dusk on July 3rd
A community House Decorating Contest to “Paint the Town Red, White and Blue”
And a day filled with music, celebration, and community spirit
Events like this are only possible because of the incredible generosity of volunteers, sponsors, and neighbors who freely offer their resources: time, talents, and financial support. From organizing our parades to setting up tents, coordinating food and games, and helping with permits and logistics – this celebration truly belongs to the entire town.
As we prepare for this historic year, we invite you to join us. Whether by volunteering, sponsoring an event, adopting a flag, decorating your home, or attending with family and friends, your participation helps keep this tradition alive for the next generation.
The Titusville Fourth of July Parade is not just about celebrating the past: it is about celebrating community, service, and the enduring spirit of independence that defines our town.
We look forward to celebrating with you on Saturday, July 4th, 2026.
With gratitude and excitement,
The Titusville Fourth of July Committee
